Live Writer ‘Post Draft and Edit Online’

Now this may well be a very useful feature of Live Writer’s new beta. It means you can write and edit the text of your post in Live Writer and then publish the draft through to your weblog and update tags and other bits and pieces (Autometa for example) before you publish.

I happen to think this is very handy and I’ve done just that with this post. I’m often needing to get into the Wordpress dashboard to do some final touching up of each post and this function will be very useful and cut out a few steps and clicks when publishing.

Well, let me try out this new function and see what happens. So I’m typing this into Live Writer and now I’ll post the draft and edit online…

Very cool, that worked and now I’m just finishing off in the Dashboard, and this all automatically opened when I asked Live Writer to perform the ‘post draft and edit online’ function – hmm, needs a shorter name than that PDEO perhaps!
